Named as the lead instructor of a group of ten coaches chosen worldwide by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) for the WCBF (a non-profit organization "dedicated to promoting peace and global understanding through the sport of baseball"). Over 250 children from twenty-five different countries participate in the event. Also named IBAF Head Coach in 2001 (Kanazawa City, Japan) and in 2000 (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada). Served as Assistant Head Coach in 1999 (Yokohama City, Japan), 1995 (Gifu City, Japan), and in 1994 (Miyazaki City, Japan). Also served as the color commentator for the ESPN broadcast of the Legends Game between the former Japanese professional baseball players and the former American players (featuring Joe DiMaggio, Lou Brock, Harmon Killebrew, Duke Snider, Hank Aaron, and others, 1994, 1995).
