Teaching and Learning Enjoyment

As noted in my Teaching Philosophy, teaching and learning can (should) be enjoyable. If you agree or if you simply want to try a different teaching strategy, you may want to test a game that I developed for my class. Using the game ideas of my colleagues, B. Hamilton & E. Hilde, I developed an Answer - Question type game for course review purposes in Nursing Research. The game is published at Merlot.org, an excellent site for online teaching and learning. You may either print or play the game.

In order to print the game, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may download the free reader from this site:

Through the Center for Excellence in Teaching at Georgia Southern University, Steve Bonham developed Twisted Jeopardy. I adapted the research items used in my Answer-Question type game and developed additional items to produce a new approach to reviewing research using Steve's Twisted Jeopardy shell. Click on the game link, Research Twisted Jeopardy, if you want to use this interactive research game. The game is also published at Merlot.org.

A few excellent activities published at Merlot.org are:
