Founded in 1935, the Southern Academy of Women in Physical Activity, Sport, and Health, Incorporated, is a non-profit professional organization of women in the 13 southern states who are involved in promoting quality instruction, research, and administration in disciplines related to physical activity, sport, and health in colleges and universities.

SAWPASH is a regional affiliate of the National Association for Kinesiology and Physical Education in Higher Education, NAKPEHE.
