Georgia Southern President Jaimie Hebert hosts Town Hall event

100days5-resizedDuring his first 100 days as Georgia Southern University’s 13th president, Jaimie Hebert, Ph.D., listened to alumni, faculty, staff and the community by asking them to share their thoughts with him through a unique survey open since July 1. In a town hall event on Monday, Oct. 17, he shared the results of the survey and discussed his vision for the University.

Georgia Southern to host first TEDxGeorgiaSouthernU event

Georgia Southern University will host TEDxGeorgiaSouthernU on Friday, Oct. 28, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., in the University’s Black Box Theatre, located in the Center for Art & Theatre at 233 Pittman Drive, Statesboro. The theme for this year’s event is “Connecting Creatively.” Registration is now open and available through with limited seats available.

Teresa MacCartney, a “Double Eagle” alumna of Georgia Southern, has a particular aversion to red. In addition to being True Blue to the core, she’s also the chief financial officer and director of the Office of Planning and Budget for the State of Georgia, which means it’s her job to keep Georgia out of “the red.”

Mark Keel graduated from Georgia Southern with one goal in mind: to become chief of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). Today, Keel is living that dream. The last year has been difficult for SLED, as they were confronted with several difficult and high-profile cases, but he is proud of how the department and the community came together.
