Letter from the DeanDear Alumni,
One of the first things that struck me when I arrived at the Georgia Southern University campus was the energy. I thought to myself, “This is a university that’s going places”. One area in which I think the college will distinguish itself is through the training of the next generation of technological entrepreneurs. For our college, we have gathered all aspects of a high-tech education under one roof, creating an ‘IT Community’ consisting of computer sciences, information technology, and information systems with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our faculty and students can now thrive with the ability to interact in this community on a daily basis.
Another very important life-long relationship the students and faculty develop and share with one another are the friendships we make and maintain with fellow classmates long after graduation. As hard as we try however, there are those classmates who move to new addresses, cities, and/or careers and as such, we lose track of them. With a few minutes of your time we can help former classmates, old friends and acquaintances find each other again.
The close ties to our graduates are one we will endeavor to facilitate and provide to you as alumni of Georgia Southern University. Your ability to relocate old friends and acquaintances will be greatly enhanced through our Alumni Membership Directory. What’s more, we will be able to share new and exciting news about the college through our CIT E-News newsletter, including updates on what is happening on campus, scheduled upcoming alumni events, and more.
Please take a few minutes to complete the on-line alumni registration form by accessing the link on the left, and help us keep in touch. We enjoy hearing from all of our alumnus and look forward to adding more graduates to our membership directory every year.
Thank you in advance for filling out your alumni registration form and for your continued support of the College of Information Technology at Georgia Southern University.
Ronald Shiffler, Interim Dean
College of Information Technology
