Alph Iota Mu Honor Society Logo

Alpha Iota Mu is an international honor society organized to recognize outstanding academic achievement in the field of information management.   Members of the Delta Chapter at Georgia Southern University are students who have completed, or are in the process of completing an undergraduate or graduate program of study in the field of information management.

Our mission

Our mission is to foster academic excellence, promote the highest ethical standards among Information Management professionals and mentor professional growth and advancement.

Induction requirements

To be eligible for election as an undergradute student the nominee must:
  1. be an Information Systems major OR be a double major in IS
  2. have a minimum GPA of 3.3 and completed 5 major courses if student is a senior, OR a minimum GPA of 3.5 and completed 3 major courses if student is a junior
  3. and have high ethical and moral ideals

Member benefits

Members receive written certification of academic excellence, which distinquishes them as a very select group of students. Our student members have served as faculty advisors, academic mentors, panel members for academic capstone evaluations, members of academic committees and student leaders.
Our members are a voice for student program improvement.
