Welcome to the Eagle Nation! Day One is a unique tradition started in 2011 to welcome students back to campus and to get everyone pumped up for the upcoming year. The one-hour gathering features numerous special guests including Georgia Southern University President Dr. Brooks Keel, Head Football Coach Jeff Monken and the University's SGA President. In addition, the Southern Pride Marching Band is joined by Georgia Southern's cheerleaders and Freedom, the University's live bald eagle mascot, makes a special flight into the stadium. Learn Georgia Southern cheers, get loud, and find out what it means to be an eagle. In its first year, thousands arrived early (many even tailgated in the parking lot) for the event. What does it sound like when thousands of people gather after the first day of class at Allen E. Paulson Stadium? Mark your calendars for one of Georgia Southern's most popular traditions. BE THERE!
