Dedicated to preserving and interpreting the natural and cultural history of the southeastern coastal plain, the Museum features the Hall of Natural History, which showcases the most significant fossil find in Georgia – the 40 million year old whale Georgiacetus vogtlensis. More than 12,000 students and other visitors view annually changing exhibits that focus primarily on paleontology, geography and native peoples.
