The Artist: Ouida Canaday, formerly of Tampa Florida, studied at the University of Tampa, the Sarasota School of Art, and at Georgia State University. An art teacher in the Decatur area who often lead world wide art tours, Ms. Canaday served as panel member for the Georgia Council for the Arts, as Vice President of Georgia Arts Commission, and as a member of several Atlanta-area artists’
association boards of directors. Her works have been included in numerous collections and selected for many major juried exhibitions.

About the Artwork: This is a portrait of the former First Lady of Georgia, Betty Foy Sanders, who studied under Ouida Canaday.
