WGST speaks out on the events in Charlottesville

With regard to the events in Charlottesville over the the weekend, the WGST program condemns the white supremacist hate as well as the lack of condemnation by the highest offices in this country immediately following. Free speech is for perspectives and conversations not violence from hate groups like NeoNazis.

This is not about tolerance or erasing difference. It is about acceptance and understanding. We have to become better at human empathy and relationships. Let’s work together on this campus to build these relationships not destroy them. WE can make 2017-2018 a good year-and we will- together.
