School Faculty Spotlight Spring 2024, Dr. Jennifer Zorotovich!

Congratulations to Dr. Zorotovich for starting this coming fall as a Full Professor in the Human Development and Family Science program!  Jennifer excels at empathetic learning pedagogy and specializes in gerontology and major adult development transitions. Her research with bereavement is shared in the classroom to the benefit of her students. 

She has been at Georgia Southern since 2014 and is a Certified Family Life Educator, has a Ph.D. in Child and Family Studies and has 15 peer reviewed journal publications, 2 book chapters, 4 technical reports, 5 external grants, 4 internal grants, 29 presentations and 6 invited talks/lectures. She also has an Aging Simulation Workshop that supports student empathy and understanding of aging. Her mentoring of 40 undergraduate students has facilitated the creation of 34 scholarly endeavors. Plus, 100% of those needing funding were coverd for travel and registration costs through her help with achieving various awards for her students. 

She also has her own multiple awards (such as the Faculty Award of Excellence, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences) and numerous service work for the School, College, University and Community. She is a fantastic part of our great School!

This is our first faculty spotlight and for the spring semester we are so happy to spotlight Dr. Jennifer Zorotovich. We are so glad to have such a very special person on our faculty. Congratulations Dr. Zorotovich for being awarded Full Professor and for her outstanding record of scholarship, teaching and service in the School of Human Ecology.
