Daniel Gambacorta earned his BA in psychology with minors in sociology and evolutionary studies from SUNY New Paltz in 2009.  He next attended New Mexico State University where he earned his MA in 2011 and his PhD in 2015.  His teaching interests include research methods, statistics, and social psychology.  His research has focused on social status, philosophy of science, emotion, and evolutionary approaches to human behavior.  Dr. Gambacorta is currently interested in the psychology of altruism and, in particular, the efforts of some to maximize their positive impact on the world (“effective altruism”).  In his spare time, he enjoys writing and playing music.
