WCHP supports pop-up clinic offering free dental care
This past August, Savannah area citizens were provided free dental services at a pop-up clinic courtesy of the Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council. Remote Area Medical (RAM) held a free, two-day dental clinic for adults where services included oral health exams, oral cancer screenings, dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental x-rays and hearing tests.
Faculty from the Waters College of Health Professions along with students enrolled in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program, Nuclear Medicine program, and Radiation Therapy program volunteered to help make the event a success.
Two hundred and thirty-seven citizens were served during the event and over $95,000 worth of free dentistry services was provided.
