Real-World Experience

At Georgia Southern, you’ll receive much more than a classroom education. You’ll generate creative ideas and discover new ways of thinking through hands-on experience. Even as an undergraduate you can join our faculty in innovative research, both in the laboratory and in the field, solving problems and making discoveries.

Our students have helped solve water quality issues at King’s Ferry outside Savannah, and worked in water testing projects at Jekyll Island beaches. They have created a motion-tracking animatronic dragon. They’ve built a state-of-the-art off-road vehicle and then raced it at the BAJA 1,000 in Mexico. They’ve earned incredible internship experiences at Space X, Under Armour, Gulfstream, Briggs and Stratton and many other businesses and industries.

Some of our students have even chosen to study abroad, receiving unforgettable learning experiences in a different culture while earning credits toward graduation.

Here at Georgia Southern, real-world experience is not just a talking point, it’s a way of life. We’re committed to sending our graduates into the workforce with the skills to be leaders in their field.
