Georgia Southern develops new online portal to assist transfer students
Georgia Southern University has developed a new, personalized online portal that will make it much easier for students at other universities to transfer to Georgia Southern.
The new website for transfer students allows interested students to find admissions events tailored to them, schedule one-to-one meetings, apply to Georgia Southern, see the University’s different transfer pathways and partnerships, find University social media accounts, and more.
The page dynamically populates tailored content for people coming onto the page depending on each user’s selected topics of interest. There are 240 possible variations of content on this page.
“We are seeing more and more students interested in transferring into Georgia Southern University,” said Amy Ballagh, interim vice president of Enrollment Management. “Kudos to our team for centralizing all of the resources we have available for these students.”
She said her admissions team started this effort with brainstorming sessions and interviews to determine what transfer students needed to know about most when going through the admissions process.
University Communications and Marketing web specialists then partnered with the admissions staff to develop the functionality and new look for the pages.
