For more than 40 years, the Georgia Southern University Alumni Association has honored alumni who have distinguished themselves with outstanding professional and personal achievements, and those who have loyally dedicated their time and service to the Eagle Nation.
The Georgia Southern University Office of Admissions will host an information session on the Move On When Ready (MOWR) program for local high school students interested in learning more about the initiative. The session will take place at the University, with check-in at the Russell Student Union, on Monday, April 3, 1-5 p.m.

Mark Keel graduated from Georgia Southern with one goal in mind: to become chief of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). Today, Keel is living that dream. The last year has been difficult for SLED, as they were confronted with several difficult and high-profile cases, but he is proud of how the department and the community came together.
Fifteen years ago, Jacayla Edwards and Kadijah Woods were students at Greensboro Elementary School when 56 first graders at the school were promised financial help - by benefactors Tom and Kathy Kelly, a retired couple living at Lake Oconee, Georgia - for college if they made it through high school. The Georgia Southern students are on the verge of graduating.
