Biography

Dr. Biebuyck received his PhD in Political Science & Political Economy from Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) in 2014. Before arriving at Georgia Southern, he taught course on European Politics & Society, EU Governance, Global Political Issues, and the Politics of Food at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. Dr. Biebuyck’s primary research interests fall in the areas of global agricultural politics, transnational political economy, and the use of interdisciplinary methods for exploring the history of social power within industrialized societies. His published work appears in venues including the European Journal of Social Theory, the Journal of Contemporary European Studies, Comparative European Politics, and The International Studies Encyclopedia. Dr. Biebuyck is currently completing a book project, based on his doctoral research, which fashions a history of governance and political rule in Western Europe from the perspective of food, farming and rural populations.
