William Reynolds co-edits book on social justice education

William M. Reynolds, Ed.D., associate professor in the Department of Curriculum, Foundations and Reading, and University of North Florida faculty member Rebekah A. Cordova, Ph.D. edited narratives of educators of rural schools across the United States in their efforts to place-based, social justice education.

The book, titled Educating for Social Justice: Field Notes from Rural Communities, details stories ranging from higher education to P-12 classrooms and from Georgia to New Mexico of teaching and learning within the often-overlooked rural areas of the country.

Highlighting experiences of rural educators, the book celebrates the successes and challenges of educators who are striving to implement justice pedagogy in rural settings.
