Fisher co-hosts dyslexia workshop for Georgia teachers

The Georgia Department of Education hosted a Dyslexia Workshop on Monday, December 9 in Augusta, Georgia for state educators. The workshop provided vital resources and research for students with dyslexia. Teachers were able to join the workshop both in-person and via live-stream options.

Karin Fisher, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Elementary and Special Education, served as an emcee and facilitator for the event that provided guidance to over 300 teachers.

As of May 2019, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 48 into law, providing for identification of and support for students in kindergarten through third grade with dyslexia.
