Learning About Statesboro

About Statesboro

Georgia Southern University is located in Statesboro, which is located in Bulloch County in the southeastern corner of Georgia (about one hour by car from Savannah and 1 1/2 hours to the beaches of Tybee and Hilton Head Islands.) Florida is two hours away and metropolitan Atlanta can be reached in about three hours.

Statesboro is a university town of around 30,000 people, known for hospitality, friendliness, and a mild year-round climate.  It offers the charm and safety of a small town but has the amenities of a larger city, such as varied shopping centers, cafes and restaurants, and entertainment options such as a cinema and outdoor parks.

Campus Life & Activities

The Office of International Programs and Services provides plenty of opportunities for international students to meet a variety of students from all across campus, and become true members of the campus community.  Programs such as Cross-Cultural Friendships, International Club, International Extended Families, and International Conversation Hour all offer chances to form friendships and explore the State of Georgia.  International students are also encouraged to take advantage of all of the activities available at Georgia Southern.  This includes the more than 300 student clubs and organizations, intramural sports, and on-campus employment positions.
