Geekend is April 26-27 in Savannah

This year Geekend celebrates 10 years of forward-thinking and innovation April 26-27, 2019. With a new home and a few surprises in store, Geekend is more prepared than ever to move into the future with guts and grit.

During this 2-day event, leading designers, technologists, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from Savannah and beyond deliver sessions which showcase Savannah’s achievements in business, tech and the arts, address our toughest challenges and discuss emerging trends, including:

  • Two days of presentations, panels, workshops and roundtables from experts building companies, products and experiences.
  • Startup Stage, a pitch competition featuring budding local entrepreneurs
  • The Geekend Indie Game Arcade, featuring the region’s best video games and AR/VR projects
  • An expo with representatives from Savannah’s most innovative companies and organizations
  • Limited-access, interactive workshops and roundtable discussions
  • Lots of opportunities to mix and mingle with movers and shakers
  • Afterparties for making friends (and making deals!)
  • A closing announcement you won’t want to miss!

They have partnered with the City of Savannah to host Geekend 2019 at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center. Geekend will be the first event held in the new venue.

The Indie Game Arcade and a Saturday program of youth workshops will be hosted by Telfair Museums at the Jepson Center for the Arts. These activities are free and public, though registration is required for workshops.

Additional Saturday sessions, including the Indie Game Awards ceremony, will be held at the SCAD Museum of Art in conjunction with the Interactive Design & Game Development department’s GDx program.
