Data Science Internship

Attention Students!

The Florida Data Science for Social Good (FL-DSSG) program hosted at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, FL, seeks undergraduate and graduate students to complete a data science Summer 2020 internship. Students who have research design, statistical analysis, data/text mining, data visualization, public policy, community problem-solving, and social innovation skills are encouraged to apply to this community-based program. As part of the internship, students will work in interdisciplinary teams on data science projects submitted by community agencies in the State of Florida to solve persistent social problems, such as homelessness, poverty, and health disparities.

The internship program will run for 12-weeks from the first week in June to the third week in August. Interns will be expected to work 20 hours per week on data science projects received from public-sector organizations. Stipends for internships will be based on the qualifications of the applicants. Course credit options are available depending upon training required for selected student participation in the internship program.

Student Intern applications are due by March 29th, 2020, by 5 PM.
