Pathfinder Internship CY 2024

We are excited to announce the initiation of the Calendar Year (CY) 24 Pathfinder Summer internship program. The objectives of the program are to promote higher education in all disciplines of cybersecurity and software development, enhance the Department’s ability to recruit and retain cyber and IT specialists, increase the number of military and civilian personnel in the DoD with this expertise, and ultimately enhance the nation’s cybersecurity and software development posture.

Applicants for the Pathfinder program must be US citizens, and the Pathfinder internship program consists of six weeks of on-site training in Orlando, Florida. The Pathfinder Internship curriculum is designed to provide interns with multiple training opportunities and challenge their knowledge in the fields of software and cybersecurity test and evaluation (T&E). Interns will develop an understanding of either offensive cybersecurity or software engineering. Progressive lessons will lead to a culminating event where students will apply their knowledge and skills in a capstone challenge.

The Pathfinder internship program is a great opportunity for selected interns to hone their cyber and software development skills while developing enduring relationships as they prepare to join the government workforce following graduation. After acceptance into the intern program, interns will complete a security clearance process and meet security access requirements.

The Pathfinder internship selection process is a merit-based process, where all application packets will undergo a thorough selection to identify and select candidates for the CY 24 Pathfinder Internship Program. Select candidates are required to attend all six weeks of the summer internship.

The internship program is projected to start in the first week of June and end in mid-July. We are accepting applications for the internship program. The deadline for submission is March 18, 2024. The application packets should consist of the applicant’s resume, letter of recommendation from academic advisor, current unofficial transcript, and a one-page letter from the applicant indicating “How would your skillset benefit the government”? We recommend that applicants work with advisors at their educational institutions to ensure their application packets effectively address and highlight their strengths. Please submit questions related to the application process no later than March 11, 2024, to ensure a timely response.

The selection committee will review all application packets during the fourth week of March. Applicants will be notified by the end of April 2024. Please note that this timeline could change.

We look forward to the Pathfinder internship this summer at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, FL. We hope you will encourage your students to take advantage of this great career opportunity. Please review this email carefully. If you have any questions, please let us know. Please provide your candidates with the email link pathfinder@millgroupinc.com to complete their application.

Thank you and best regards,
