Science educator featured on “Down the Wormhole” podcast

Amanda Glaze-Crampes, Ph.D., assistant professor of science education in the Department of Middle Grades and Secondary Education, was the featured guest Episode 69 of the “Down the Wormhole” podcast series, a weekly podcast that explores the relationship between science and religion.

In the episode, Glaze-Crampes is highlighted as a current Sinai and Synapses fellow, and asked to explore her research on the intersections of science and society, specifically the acceptance and rejection of evolution in the Southeastern United States and the impact of the conflict between religion and evolution on science literacy.

Glaze-Crampes goes back to her religious upbringing in rural Alabama how her research interest began by challenging to her family and friends that “you can be both scientifically literate and a person of faith.”
