Williams-Johnson publishes practice brief for APA
Meca Williams-Johnson, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Curriculum, Foundations, and Reading, published a practice brief for the American Psychological Association that will also be published in the National Education Association news.
The brief, titled “Revisiting Family Involvement,” addresses the importance of family involvement in student education with consideration of the long-term consequences of COVID-19.
“Schools are dependent upon family members to facilitate online learning environments; therefore, it is a critical time to reimagine methods to increase family involvement,” said Williams-Johnson.
The brief outlines the family involvement model and details recommendations for school personnel based on the model.
