Cleveland and COE alumna co-author article in the Beacon
Richard Cleveland, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Technology and Human Development, and recent College of Education graduate Charlotte Prater (M.Ed. School Counseling,’17) co-authored an article for the Georgia School Counselor Association’s spring 2018 release of the Beacon, the association’s semi-annual educational magazine that provides school counselors with how-to articles and addresses issues seen in their work on a daily basis. Cleveland and Prater’s article detailed a data-based intervention Prater implemented at a local high school in the region, supporting pregnant and parenting teens in the schools. Specifically, her program was based off of individual and school site data, utilized services across a multi-level (i.e., response to intervention, or RTI) model, and involved collaboration with community agencies.
