Georgia Southern to Present Posthumous Degree to Warner Robbins Native

Shabria Lowe was a vibrant and enthusiastic Physics student at Georgia Southern University until she passed away on November 21, 2007. During Saturday’s Spring commencement ceremony, the University will posthumously present her parents with her bachelor of science in Physics degree.

‘Shabria was not only an outstanding student, but an outstanding person,” said Dr. Mark Edwards, chair of the Physics department at Georgia Southern University.? ‘We are honored to present her diploma to her family this Saturday and want them to know that we will never forget her.”

A 2004 graduate of Warner Robbins High School, Lowe was very active on campus despite pursuing a challenging degree.? While at Georgia Southern University, Lowe was a member of Tau Sigma National Honor Society, a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority and worked for Campus Recreation and Intramurals’ Recreation Activity Center.? Before she passed away, she was in the process of applying to medical school

During the ceremony, Dr. Bret Danilowicz, dean of the College of Science and Technology will recognize Lowe’s family and invite her parents, Broderick and Sharon Lowe, on stage to receive her diploma.
