Nominate an academic advisor for an Outstanding Advisor Award

The Office of Advising is accepting nominations through Jan. 25 for the annual Outstanding Advisor Awards at Georgia Southern. 

The University-wide winners of the Outstanding Advisor Awards will represent Georgia Southern at the National Academic Advising Association conference. 

Use the information below to nominate a Georgia Southern advisor who has had a positive influence on students and the campus community.

  • New Advisor: presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students and who have served as a professional advisor or a faculty member with advising duties for a period of three years or less.
  • Advisor in Primary Role: Individuals whose primary role at the institution is the direct delivery of advising services to students. Nominees must spend at least 50% of their time on direct delivery of advising to students and have at least three calendar years of experience in direct delivery of advising to students.
  • Administrator: Individuals who may provide direct academic advising services but whose primary responsibility is as an administrator or director of an academic advising program. Nominees must have a minimum of three calendar years in advising administration with at least 50% of their duties dedicated to advising administration.

The Georgia Southern advisement community is responsible for helping more than 25,000 undergraduate students successfully progress through their programs of study. The Office of Advising is extremely proud of our advisors, and we believe advisors are critical to the success of our students and our campus.
