Georgia Southern to test Eagle Alert system on April 27
Georgia Southern University is scheduled to test all components of the Eagle Alert system on Thursday, April 27. The Eagle Alert system is designed to play a key role in keeping Georgia Southern’s students, faculty, staff and campus visitors safe during emergency situations
Parking regulations, decals to change Fall 2017
Georgia Southern’s Office of Parking and Transportation is implementing policy changes beginning Fall 2017 that will replace parking pass decal stickers and hangers.
Student named Georgia Association on Young Children Student of the Year
Senior child and family development major Salena Neuwar was named the 2016 Georgia Association on Young Children (GAYC) Student of the Year at the Together for Children Conference for her outstanding work as a student and the positive impact she has made in her field of study.
COE faculty and students present at National Association for Professional Development Schools
Faculty and students from the College of Education (COE) attended the National Association for Professional Development Schools (NAPDS) conference in Washington, D.C., on March 9-11.
Graduate student Rachel Steinbrenner presented with faculty members Kathleen Tootle, Catherine Howerter, Ph.D., and Lisa Davis. Their session, titled “Partnerships Enhanced Through Yearlong Student Teaching Experience,” detailed the three teacher preparation programs in the College that are implementing yearlong student teaching internships for pre-service teacher candidates.

Georgia Southern University’s School of Nursing’s RN to BSN program was recently named one of the best online RN-BSN programs in the United States by TheBestSchools.org. The University’s RN to BSN program was ranked in the top 50 in the nation for the Best Online RN to BSN Nursing Programs out of more than 250 schools in the country.
Great Minds Lecture Series Wraps Up this month
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences’ (CLASS) 2017 Great Minds Lecture Series concludes with “Jonathan Edwards, Andrew Fuller, and the Recasting of Calvinism in Fuller’s The Gospel Worthy of All Acceptation (1785)” on April 19 at 5:30 p.m. in Russell Union room 2047, presented by Timothy Whelan, Ph.D., from the Department of Literature and Philosophy.
