Georgia Southern graduate student works with alumnus Lee Berger on recent ‘Homo naledi’ discoveries
Nompumelelo Hlophe, a graduate student in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Georgia Southern, co-authored a paper with University alumnus and scientist Lee Berger, Ph.D., D.Sc., (‘89) about the latest information on Homo naledi, skeletal remains discovered by Berger in 2013.
Alumna named Paraprofessional of the Year by Georgia Council for Exceptional Children
College of Education (COE) graduate Meghan Rosser (‘17) was named Paraprofessional of the Year by the Georgia Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) on June 9 at the annual IDEAS Conference on St. Simons Island.
This award recognizes a paraprofessional who provides direct services to students with exceptionalities, and who is an outstanding member of the profession with work that reflects significant educational success for students, continued professional development and the highest standards of educational quality.
In addition to Rosser being named Paraprofessional of the Year, student Meredith Boatright was also named Student Member of the Year at the conference.
Georgia Southern faculty Jennifer Zorotovich awarded Outstanding Scholarship Article
Jennifer Zorotovich, Ph.D., assistant professor of child and family development in the School of Human Ecology, is a recipient for Outstanding Scholarship Article in the Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences (JFCS) at the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) 108th Annual Conference and Expo in Dallas, Texas.
“I was extremely honored to be recognized in this way, especially by such a longstanding organization that represents the foundation and cohesion for Georgia Southern University’s School of Human Ecology,” said Zorotovich. “It is rewarding to have my hard work and dedication acknowledged on a national platform.”
