Operation Empower Health – Greater Savannah kicks off Thursday
Thousands of people in need of medical care can receive it at no-cost in May during Operation Empower Health – Greater Savannah, a U.S. Military exercise supported by St. Joseph’s/Candler and Georgia Southern University. Troops from all over the United States will deploy to Savannah and set up medical, dental, vision and veterinary services in four key locations from May 10-18. It will be the 2018 flagship exercise of the Department of Defense’s annual Innovative Readiness Training Program.
Join Staff Council for the annual Staff Council Picnics
Join Georgia Southern University’s Staff Council on the Statesboro Campus Wednesday, May 9 and on the Armstrong Campus Thursday, May 10 for the annual Staff Council Picnics. Enjoy free food, raffle prizes, games, bingo and cornhole. Lunch and drinks will be served. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 at GeorgiaSouthern.edu/StaffCouncil. Raffle prizes include gift baskets, gift cards, gift certificates and more. All proceeds from the raffle ticket sales will go toward the Staff Council scholarship and book award. Please bring canned food items to donate to the Statesboro Food Bank.

On May 4 and 5, more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students from Georgia Southern University’s Statesboro, Armstrong and Liberty Campuses received degrees in three Spring Commencement ceremonies.
