July 16, 2020: Faculty Contracts

Dear Faculty,

Traditionally, faculty members received paper contracts in their mailboxes by mid-July. This year, we will no longer be using paper contracts. Instead, the USG is implementing a new process where you will sign your FY2021 contract by logging into OneUSG.

We are making this change because Georgia Southern University was just selected as one of eight institutions by the USG to use the OneUSG Connect Faculty Contract Delivery process. This new, secure process earned positive reviews from the Regents Advisory Committee for Academic Affairs and the Regents Advisory Committee for Fiscal Affairs.

You will receive an email from the Provost’s Office when your contract is ready for signature. We will also provide step-by-step instructions on how to sign your contract electronically in OneUSG.

New incoming faculty members, however, will still get paper contracts since they may not be in the system yet. Department Chairs will be provided the paper contracts for new incoming faculty, and then the Chair must distribute the contract to the new faculty member. This will be the only group of faculty members who will receive paper contracts for signature. All others will be via the new electronic platform.
