Canoochee Electric Membership Corporation Network Administrator – Reidsville, GA

SUMMARY:  Responsible for administration, security and troubleshooting of computer and telephone networks.  Provides installation and troubleshooting services for software/hardware systems and teaches users the use of various business software applications as needed.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

            Reports to:  Chief Administrative Officer

Directs:  None

REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES

            Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field with certification in Microsoft Network Administration.

A combination of education and years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements providing equivalent knowledge.

Valid Georgia Driver’s License

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 4 years of experience in CIS or MIS field specializing in network systems maintenance.

 TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of PC maintenance and repair.
  • Must be able to understand the fundamental network topology and must be comfortable with computer and software troubleshooting.
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have extensive problem-solving skills and be able to organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and perform the activities necessary to complete work assignments.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshooting network problems.
  • Provides network administration on all workstations.
  • Responsible for daily and bi-weekly backups of all servers.
  • Provides workstation setup for new and current users, this involves installation and updates of software, hardware and network protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining server files.
  • Responsible for setting up new telephone installations.
  • Provides users with knowledge regarding the use of various business software packages.
  • Pricing of PC computer systems, software/hardware, and network equipment.
  • Keeps abreast of all current network, software/hardware applications utilized.
  • Must maintain confidentiality in all work-related matters.
  • Provide VOIP telephone system assistance.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Observes all safety rules.
  • Assists at Annual Meeting.
  • Performs other duties as required.
