Presentation on AI & Wine

On April 19, 2024, Cemil Emre Yavas, supported by Drs. Jongyeop Kim and Lei Chen, whose research interests and expertise are in the fields of AI and ML, unveiled groundbreaking research findings at the PCEC Corporate Advisory Committee meeting. This presentation was one of the only two selected faculty/student presentations from the college at this important meeting. This landmark study not only identified the supreme ML model for evaluating wine quality but also pinpointed the top four chemical elements critical to this assessment. Their research meticulously delineates the chemical composition of what they term ‘wines of infinite quality,’ far exceeding the capabilities of traditional human sommeliers. This innovative approach heralds massive cost and time efficiencies across diverse industries.
