Research Interests
I am interested in the ecology and behavior of small mammals, and in improving teaching and learning in biology. Students in my lab have worked on projects involving population biology of Peromyscus polionotus, movement patterns in free-ranging cats; hormone profiles of ring-tailed lemurs, foraging behavior in Peromyscus polionotus, nesting habits of gray squirrels in urban parks, food choice of ring-tailed lemurs on St. Catherine’s Island, and biodiversity surveys of vertebrates on a university campus. I have also published research on the benefits of service-learning in large (200+ students) classrooms.
