Public Health Practicum and Preceptorship Information for MPH and DrPH Students

The MPH Practicum or DrPH Preceptorship provides essential real-world experience and is required for degree completion.

Course: PUBH 7790/9790

Practicums and preceptorships are completed for academic credit.

Requirements:

  1. Students must be in their final semester of the MPH of DrPH program and have completed all major core courses.

Informational Meetings

It is required that you attend at least one practicum/preceptorship meeting. These meetings are held every Fall and Spring semester; you should attend a meeting two semesters before you plan to complete your practicum or preceptorship.

Approval Process

  1. Secure your practicum/preceptorship site
  2. Complete your application via Handshake
  3. Complete the Override Request form sent to you by your academic advisor

Georgia Southern University and Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health provide students with the resources to locate and acquire internships. Visit the Office of Career and Professional Development and look for emails from Dr. Nazaruk or the Office of Practice and Research for opportunities.
