Ready for the Next Level

Georgia Southern’s Masters of Music program offers advanced students the opportunity to grow in an environment with accomplished mentors and supportive peers, and many opportunities to interact on a personal basis with faculty mentors. While the majority of graduate students attend full-time, most concentration areas are scheduled in the evenings to accommodate part-time students. Our alumni have been highly successful in the profession, both locally and nationally.

About the Program

The Master of Music Degree at Georgia Southern University prepares individuals holding a bachelor’s degree in music to hone their musical skills to a higher level, to pursue a post-baccalaureate degree for professional advancement, or to prepare for admission to a doctoral program in music. Students pursue advanced artistic and technical skills and an ability to act independently as performers, scholars, teachers, and/or practitioners in one of five specific concentration areas: Composition, Conducting, Music Education, Music Technology, and Performance, and demonstrate this skills by presenting either a culminating recital or a final project.
