Statistical Consulting

The Statistical Consulting Unit (SCU) provides statistical analysis, data science expertise, and computational research support to faculty, students and external partners across Georgia Southern University and beyond.

Established in 2005 under the leadership of Dr. Broderick Oluyede, the SCU has completed more than 110 interdisciplinary consultations and has supported externally funded research, graduate theses and collaborative scholarly publications.

Over the past decade, the scope and scale of SCU activities have expanded significantly integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, high-performance computing and applied analytics across multiple colleges.

Through federal partnerships, industry contracts and cross-college research initiatives, the SCU now functions as Georgia Southern University’s primary infrastructure for interdisciplinary quantitative research and data-driven innovation.
