The Office of Multicultural Affairs creates spaces where all students feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Through mentoring, cultural programs, and diversity education, OMA helps students build community, grow as leaders, and make the most of their Georgia Southern experience.
Cultural Enrichment Opportunities
The Office of Multicultural Affairs spearheads the coordination of a variety of cultural enrichment events that are dedicated to celebrating the cultural diversity of our community and enhancing our community’s awareness of diversity and social justice.

Holi Festival of Colors
Translated as the “Festival of Colors,” Holi is a traditional holiday celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs. Holi Festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of good over bad. It is a socio-cultural festival during which a wide range of colors are smeared over each other as a mark of love and belonging, and to welcome the spring season.

Excellence in Diversity Awards
The purpose of the Excellence in Diversity Awards is to recognize and honor those campus constituents that have contributed to increasing the appreciation of diversity at Georgia Southern University.
Mentor & Student Success Initiatives
The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides mentor and student success initiatives to enhance retention, progression, and graduation (RPG) for students from various backgrounds by creating a culture of academic achievement and success throughout students’ matriculation. This is achieved through programming, mentoring, and other initiatives that support healthy identity development, academic and social support, and professional and personal development.
