How to Register or Apply

Current | Former | New and Transfer | Transient | International | Graduate

Current Students

Summer is a great time to take classes at Georgia Southern. During the summer, as a current student, you can:

  • Make up coursework in smaller, more intimate class settings.
  • Enjoy more focused study in your area of interest.
  • Take advantage of the shorter class terms to finish core classes more quickly.
  • Get ahead in your coursework, allowing you a lighter load in the Fall.

Whatever your motivation, taking the first step is a snap!

Current students can simply log into WINGS through http://my.georgiasouthern.edu and register online! It’s easy!

Step 1: Registration in WINGS

  • Under the My Services tab click WINGS (Student Information System)
  • Select STUDENT
  • Select REGISTRATION
  • Select SELECT TERM
  • Select the term and click on SUBMIT
  • Select ADD/DROP/WITHDRAW CLASSES
  • Enter your RAN (receive from your advisor) and click Submit

NOTE: If you have any holds on your record, click on VIEW HOLDS. Take note of how to remove the holds and log out of WINGS. Once your holds are cleared, you may proceed with registration.

Step 2: Register for your Courses

  • Click CLASS SEARCH
  • Click ADVANCED SEARCH
  • Select SUBJECT
  • Enter COURSE NUMBER
  • Click on the SECTION SEARCH button
  • Click on the SELECT box beside the course you wish to add to your schedule
  • Click the REGISTER button
  • Repeat the above steps until you have selected all classes needed for the term.
  • When all of your classes appear under CURRENT SCHEDULE, you are registered!

Former Students

If you were a student at Georgia Southern and decided to take a break from classes, summer is the perfect time to begin your coursework again!

Getting started is easy! Just fill out the Former Student Application online form and the registrar’s office will get in touch with you to continue the process.

New and Transfer Students

Summer is a great opportunity for new Georgia Southern University students! Follow these easy steps to enroll this summer.

Step One: Choose Your Campus & Apply

  • GeorgiaSouthern.edu/apply
  • The application process differs by campus for summer term. Carefully read the instructions on the Apply webpage.

Step Two: Watch Your Status Check Page for a Decision

Step Three: Sign Up for SOAR & Housing

Step Four: Become an Eagle

  • Attend SOAR to register for classes and become prepared for the first day of classes!

Transient Students

Are you planning to enroll for one semester and transfer your classes back to your home institution? Apply as a transient student.

Step One: Choose Your Campus & Apply

  • GeorgiaSouthern.edu/apply
  • The application process differs by campus for summer term. Carefully read the instructions on the Apply webpage.

Step Two: Submit a Transient Permission Form or Letter of Good Standing

  • Your home institution should issue you a transient permission form that says which classes you can take and certifies that you are in academic good standing. A letter certifying good standing is also acceptable.
  • Send this form to the Office of Admissions via mail or email (transfers@georgiasouthern.edu). Be sure to note on it what campus you will attend.

Step Three: Watch Your Status Check Page for a Decision

Statesboro Campus

  • Once you are admitted, you can set up your My.GeorgiaSouthern portal and look up your Registration Access Number (RAN) in the Registration Information section.
  • Use the tutorial videos in the portal to learn how to register.
  • Register for classes through WINGS in the portal.

Armstrong & Liberty Campuses

  • Once you are admitted, you can set up your PORT account.
  • Register for classes through SHIP in the portal.

Step Four: Become an Eagle

  • Attend the first day of classes!

The summer application process for international students is very similar to domestic students, but to be sure you have everything in line for a quick decision, please email intladmissions@georgiasouthern.edu to review the process.
