How to Register or Apply for Summer

Current Students

Former Students

If you were a student at Georgia Southern and decided to take a break from classes, summer is the perfect time to begin your coursework again! Getting started is easy! If you have been out of school for three semesters or more, complete the Application for Admission as a former student. (If you’ve taken classes within the last three semesters, you are still considered a current student.)

New and Transfer Students

Follow these easy steps to enroll this summer.

Step One: Choose Your Campus & Apply

Step Two: Watch Your Status Check Page for a Decision

Step Three: Sign Up for SOAR & Housing

Step Four: Become an Eagle

  • After signing up for SOAR and submitting your SOAR fee payment, you will receive an email with more instructions about completing your Pre-Advisement Course. Once open, this will be located under “Folio” in your MyGeorgiaSouthern student portal. This jump-starts the communication with your academic advisor so they are prepared for your arrival at orientation and can start making your schedule.
  • Attend the first day of classes and verify your attendance through Folio.

Transient Students

Are you planning to enroll for one semester and transfer your classes back to your home institution? Apply as a transient student.

Step One: Choose Your Campus & Apply

Step Two: Submit a Transient Permission Form or Letter of Good Standing

  • Your home institution should issue you a transient permission form that says which classes you can take and certifies that you are in academic good standing. A letter certifying good standing is also acceptable.
  • Send this form to the Office of Admissions.

Step Three: Watch Your Status Check Page for a Decision

Step Four: Register for Classes

  • Once you are admitted, set up your My.GeorgiaSouthern portal.
  • Look up your Registration Access Number (RAN) in the Registration Information section. (This number is your PIN code needed to be able to register for classes).

Step Five: Become an Eagle

  • Attend the first day of classes and verify your attendance through Folio.

International Students

The summer application process for international students is very similar to domestic students, but to be sure you have everything in line for a quick decision, please email intladmissions@georgiasouthern.edu to review the process.

The Office of International Student Admissions and Programs will assist you with many of the “next steps” after you’ve applied for admission.

Graduate Students
