Zoonotic and infectious diseases are a part of community-health work. The animal-human relationship is intertwined in the well-being of global security. We all need to support each other-human, animal, planet, and environment- to stay happy, healthy, and secure.

Zoonotic disease training through a One Health lens is critically important to all individuals planning a career working with animals or animal by-products.

Field trips to petting zoos and farms as well as having class pets are critical and fun parts of education. To keep their class and the animals safe, educators need this training.

Zoonotic Disease Training
The zoonotic disease training sessions are two-hours in length and will discuss the impact that various zoonotic diseases have on our communities. You will learn about common zoonosis and how they are transmitted. By learning the best practices to keep yourself and others healthy and safe, you will feel capable of interacting with animals in whatever field you end up in.

Infectious Disease Training
The infectious disease training sessions are 90 minutes in length and will discuss the impact that various infectious diseases have on our communities. You will learn how common infectious dieseases are transmitted, and best practices to keep yourself and others healthy and safe.

Upon attending this training, students will receive a certificate of completion.

FAQs

How do I receive the attendance verification?

Once your students register via the JotForm link we provide to you, we take care of the rest. We will send them a pre-test via email. AFTER they complete the training we will send them a post-test and an evaluation. They must complete all three forms to complete the training. Once they have done this we will generate a certificate of completion for the student that is emailed to them. If requested, we can also email a list of students who completed the training to each faculty member.

When should I have the students register?

Students need to register at least 2 hours prior to the training date in order to have time to complete the pre-test. But don’t delay! Space is limited so have students secure their spots ASAP.
