Welcome to the College of Education at Georgia Southern University!

Since 1927, we’ve been dedicated to preparing passionate, effective education professionals—and that tradition is stronger than ever. But we’re more than just a college. We are a community driven by growth, innovation and a genuine commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of our students and the world they will go on to serve.

At Georgia Southern, you won’t just study education—you’ll live it. From hands-on field experiences to mentorship from expert faculty, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to teach, lead and serve. Our rigorous degree and certificate programs are built to prepare you for success in today’s educational settings.

As a first-generation college graduate from a rural area, I know how life-changing education can be. My journey began in a middle school classroom, helping students who struggled with reading. That’s where I found my passion for literacy, student success and learning. My career in higher education grew from a desire to give others the same transformative opportunities that shaped my life.

That mission brought me to Georgia Southern. Our College of Education has a strong reputation—locally and nationally—for its outstanding programs and exceptional faculty.

Our professors are not only leaders in their fields, they’re deeply committed to your growth and success.

We also work closely with local schools, community organizations and other academic programs to ensure you get real-world, hands-on learning experiences. And our faculty’s innovative research continues to drive progress in education.

Whether you’re preparing to be a teacher, counselor, school psychologist, media specialist, researcher, or leader—there’s a place for you here. Let us help you turn your passion into purpose.

We hope you’ll explore more, reach out with questions, and come visit us soon.
