Statesboro Ambassadors

Do you want to be “the face of Georgia Southern”? Do you want to give back to your University, all while networking and gaining leadership skills?

If you love Georgia Southern, we want you!

All current Georgia Southern students who are in good academic standing with the University are eligible to apply to become a Southern Ambassador on their campus.

New Member Recruitment

New member recruitment takes place during spring and fall semesters each year. All students interested in becoming a Southern Ambassador on the Statesboro Campus must submit a new member application and recommendation letter completed by a Georgia Southern professor, faculty, or staff member to be considered for membership. Following the application and letter of recommendation form review, selected candidates are invited to participate in an interview, followed by a mock tour. Students selected to become Southern Ambassadors should immediately begin shadowing tours to become more familiar with their new position. New Southern Ambassadors will begin their training during the spring semester and be expected to start giving campus tours at the start of the fall semester. All Southern Ambassadors are also required to attend the fall training retreat at the beginning of the semester.

Southern Ambassadors provide weekday tours, group tours, and special event tours to prospective students and guests. Ambassadors also are required to assist with Eagle Previews, Accepted Students Day, and other recruitment events throughout the year.  Monthly meetings are mandatory and help ambassadors to re-energize and stay up to date with GS and Statesboro Campus facts.

Southern Ambassadors operate under a rolling application system, and applications are now being accepted.
