
Southern Leaders, a Georgia Southern University undergraduate leadership program, received national recognition as a recipient of the 2018 Association of Leadership Educators (ALE) Outstanding Program Award. The award recognizes outstanding leadership programs implemented by leadership educators that can have substantial impact on individuals, organizations, institutions and/or communities through data.

Women in Technology (WIT), an organization for the advancement of women in technological fields, has awarded $5,000 scholarships to three women at Georgia Southern University.
Four students from Georgia Southern University’s Phi Eta Sigma (PEΣ) chapter were awarded scholarships from the society’s national organization, totaling $14,000.
Kenneth Richardson, a senior biochemistry major at the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus in Savannah, has been named a 2018 American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholar. Richardson said the scholarship will help him soon begin his career path.
