University Bands at Georgia Southern bring the energy and tradition of Eagle spirit to every performance. From the powerful presence of the Southern Pride Marching Band on fall Saturdays to the high-energy sound of the Hoop Troop Pep Band during basketball season, these ensembles represent the heart of game day. Open to students from all majors, our bands perform at home games, regional events, and even national appearances — including performances for the Atlanta Falcons and Braves. Whether in Paulson Stadium or on the road, University Bands keep the crowd on its feet and school pride soaring.
Our Bands
Southern Pride Marching Band
Southern Pride is the name for the marching band of Georgia Southern University located in Statesboro, Georgia.
Comprised of over 200 students from every College and Department on Georgia Southern University’s campus, the Southern Pride Marching Band is the entertainment showcase of Eagle Football.
The Band performs for over 250,000 fans every season and brings the pageantry of collegiate athletics to every venue in which it performs. From road games, to parades, to its home in Allen E. Paulson Stadium, the Prettiest Little Stadium in America, the Southern Pride Marching Band brings Eagle spirit, Eagle tradition, and a commitment to excellence every time they don the Blue and White.
Southern Pride has also performed at halftime for the Atlanta Falcons, pregame for the Atlanta Braves, and has had members of its drumline perform on the David Letterman Show.
The Hoop Troop
The Hoop Troop Basketball Pep Band performs at all Men’s and Women’s Basketball games during the Spring Semester including all post-season travel. Band WILL travel to the NCAA basketball tournament in Pensecola, FL.
The band is comprised of 29 total members (the NCAA mandated max for travel).
