A Unique Connection Between Georgia and Ireland
Wexford, Ireland is special not only for its rich ancient history and prominent place in Irish culture, but also for its storied connection to the state of Georgia. Starting in the 1800’s, ships began sailing directly from County Wexford to Savannah, establishing a familial link that has since continued unbroken. Students who participate in one of our Wexford programs carry on that relationship and reap all the benefits of the long-standing hospitality with our Irish cousins.
