Protecting & Promoting the Eagle Brand

Georgia Southern University’s Office of Trademark Licensing oversees the use of the university’s official names, logos, and symbols—collectively known as trademarks. These marks represent the pride, spirit, and identity shared by our students, alumni, faculty, and fans.

All Georgia Southern trademarks are the exclusive property of the University and the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. These include any word, phrase, logo, symbol, or design associated with the institution.

Why Licensing Matters

Georgia Southern partners with The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a national leader in collegiate brand management, to license our brand to more than 240 companies producing goods such as:

Royalties from officially licensed products directly support student scholarships and campus programs.

Look For The Label

Eagles “Do Right” and Look for the Label

When you purchase a Georgia Southern product that bears the “Collegiate Licensed Product” label, hang tag, or hologram, a portion of your purchase price is returned to the University. By simply looking for the label when you buy Georgia Southern merchandise, you are helping support your University.

Report an Unlicensed Product

The trademarks and logos that represent Georgia Southern University are property of Georgia Southern and the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Like any property owner, the University wants to ensure that its property is protected. Use of these trademarks without permission of the University is illegal.

As the brand of Georgia Southern University continues to grow, so does the threat of unlicensed merchandise. The “Collegiate Licensed Product” label, hang tag, or hologram signifies that the University has granted the manufacturer the right to use its trademarks. Otherwise, the merchandise may be counterfeit.

The “Collegiate Licensed Product” label, hang tag, or hologram not only signifies that the manufacturer has been given permission to use the trademarks of Georgia Southern University, but also that the merchandise has passed the strict standards set forth by the University. Through a system of quality control, the label, hang tag, or hologram have come to represent genuine craftsmanship and authenticity, guaranteeing that the product you are purchasing is top-tier quality.

To ensure that you are buying a product that is authentic, simply look for the “Collegiate Licensed Product “ label that will appear on every licensed product.
