Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at the Center for Wildlife Education can be a fun and rewarding experience. However, the volunteer policy recently changed at Georgia Southern University, which has impacted volunteer opportunities at the Wildlife Center. Below are the requirements to become a volunteer here at the Center.

  • The Wildlife Center will no longer be accepting short-term volunteers or students volunteering only for class credit or projects.
  • Volunteers MUST be 18 years of age or older.
  • The Wildlife Center no longer accepts community service or court mandated workers.
  • Background investigations are required on all Wildlife Center volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Wildlife Center, please stop by and pick up a volunteer packet of information, volunteer application and background investigation form.

If you are a student at Georgia Southern University, we strongly encourage you to register with Volunteer Services on campus. They offer a Volunteer Transcript to all registered students with a minimum of 200 service hours. For more information, contact Volunteer Services at 912-478-7270 or visit their office.dd dsv
