Exhibit showcasing works of Georgia Southern Professor Emeritus Patricia J. Walker to raise money for scholarships

An exhibit featuring works from the late Professor Emeritus Patricia J. Walker’s studio opens Oct. 10 at Indigo Sky Community Gallery in Savannah, Georgia. Proceeds from the sale of the works of art on display will help endow the Pat Walker Scholarship in Painting, which will provide needed financial support for students in the University’s Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt).

Patti Solis Doyle to Speak for Hispanic Heritage Month

Patti Solis Doyle, political organizer and campaign strategist, will share her thoughts on “Shaping the Future of Hispanics in the U.S.” in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. The Multicultural Student Center at Georgia Southern will host Doyle on Wed., Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. in University’s Russell Union Ballroom.

Georgia Southern students’ exhibit, “Ovation,” opens Saturday, Sept. 5

Georgia Southern’s 2015-2016 visual art scholarship and award recipients in the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) will showcase their work in the “Ovation,” exhibit at the Blick Gallery in Savannah, Georgia. The exhibit, open to the public, is on display Saturday, Sept. 5, through Thursday, Oct. 1.

Anthony Waters to chair Georgia Southern’s 42nd annual ‘A Day for Southern’ campaign
