What You’ll Learn
As a BBA information systems major, you will learn the fundamental skills involved in enterprise systems and business analytics—an important domain that focuses on the applications of predictive analytics and machine learning to help address complex issues in business. You will gain real world experience through multiple internship opportunities, and you will choose a focus in one of three key areas:
- Business Analytics: learn to make sound, integrated business decisions in marketing and sales, production, manufacturing, logistics and human resources, among others, using predictive analytics, machine learning, and big data tools and techniques.
- Enterprise Systems: learn to manage large, complex information systems that integrate business processes across an entire organization.
Enterprise Security: learn how to protect data, networks, and applications to ensure the safety and security of customer information and proprietary data.

The Information Systems minor includes courses that make up the heart of an IS Major. It allows you to take several of the most important courses in the major, giving you a firm understanding of the primary tools and methods that Information Systems professionals use.
This program is open to students who want a basic understanding of information systems to complement their major field(s) of study. Completing ACCT 2030 or ACCT 2101 is recommended before taking any upper division course. Students pursuing the Information Systems minor are encouraged to involve Enterprise Systems and Analytics faculty members in course selection decisions.
